Where to Study Foreign Languages in Sydney: You can find plenty of places and opportunities to learn a foreign language around Sydney. One option is to enrol in one of the programmes offered by the dozens of language schools available in the city, including Language Trainers! Meanwhile, if you would like to obtain a higher education diploma in a foreign language instead, you can find many universities that offer academic certificates. For example, the University of Sydney has programmes in more than 12 languages (including Italian, Spanish, German and even Latin and Hebrew), where you will not only be learning the language but also its cultural context and arts. Another reputable university that offers studies in foreign languages, such as Polish, Russian and Italian, is Macquarie University. And if you are interested in demonstrating your language level by taking an internationally recognised exam (like DALF for French or Goethe-Zertifikat for German), then you can find a lot of institutions that host these exams, like the Alliance Francaise de Sydney on Clarence Street. Contact us today and we will adapt our Exam Preparation course, so you pass your exam with flying colours.

Where to Practise Foreign Languages in Sydney: Sign up today for a course with us at Language Trainers and you will achieve fluency in a short time, as each class is personalised to suit your preferences and requirements. Still, you should practise outside the classroom to sharpen your skills and gain confidence in real-life settings. Luckily for language students in Sydney, there are plenty of opportunities for you to put into play what you learn in your course. For example, you can join a language exchange community, such as Sydney Lingos, an international social group for language and cultural exchange that meets twice a week for its members to have fun and practise their skills. In these meetings, you will be given flag stickers that represent the language you want to practise. This will help you connect with others looking to speak in that same language. Another option is to join the Sydney Internationals Meetup, where you can make new friends of all nationalities and learn more about the culture of the language you are learning.

Language Jobs in Sydney: Start learning a foreign language and you will improve your job prospects in a multilingual and multicultural city. Today, Australia’s businesses and organisations are looking to grow and enter into overseas markets. Big local companies, like WiseTech Global, Gentrack Group, Aconex and other software businesses, are rapidly expanding and, for that, they need bilingual employees who can communicate with their partners abroad. Sign up for a language course and give your CV the boost it needs to get a new job or promotion! Alternatively, if you own a business and would like to expand abroad as well, you can get in touch with the most appropriate chamber of commerce or business council, like those of the French, Chinese and Spanish. These institutions can help you get more information to thrive in these foreign markets and will also provide you with opportunities to network with entrepreneurs from those countries.

Language Culture in Sydney: Learning a foreign language will also enhance your cultural experiences around Sydney. The city celebrates its many adopted residents all year long with parties, parades, cinema and music festivals, and more. For example, if you are going to study Korean, then you should not miss the Cabramatta Moon Festival, a unique cultural event that attracts more than 90,000 people each year. You will be able to taste delicious Korean food, enjoy live entertainment, free rides and activities, spectacular fireworks and the overall Korean atmosphere that characterises this event. If you want to study Chinese, instead, you should definitely participate in the Lunar Year celebrations that take place every year. This is the biggest event in the Chinese calendar and it fills the streets of Chinatown and Haymarket, where you can experience Dragon Boat races, markets, tours and exhibitions. Regardless of the language you choose, you will find something to explore around Sydney. Check out Sydney’s Destinations to get a list of every cultural event hosted throughout the year!

All in all, if you sign up for a course in Sydney today you will broaden your professional, social, and cultural horizons. Language Trainers can help you achieve your language goals, no matter how busy your schedule or how challenging the language you choose can be to learn. Our native-speaking instructors come directly to you and can deliver one-on-one lessons via Skype or at your home, office, or in a public space of your choosing. If you decide to study in a public place, we recommend that you take your lessons in the Town Hall Library Express on Kent Street, Georgia Café and Deli on Seaport Place or Quince Café and Ice Cream on Beacon Avenue.

Please, also consider that we have language instructors based all throughout the country, so if you are living in the outskirts of Sydney, that won’t be a problem. We have great professionals ready to get started in places like Bankstown, Bondi Beach, Chatswood and Liverpool.

Contact us today to know more about our courses and how to get started! And, if you have studied languages before, please take one of our language Level Tests. With your results, we can design a course that truly suits your current ability!

Sign up for our Malay lessons in Sydney today! Schedule your lessons whenever you want them, so you can always find time to study, regardless of your timetable or location. You don’t even have to leave home to meet your teacher!
