New Zealand is one of the best places to live and work, according to a BBC report in 2017, and while it may be one of the youngest countries in the world, it is packed with cultural value and professional opportunities, especially in the city of Auckland. From awesome art galleries to interesting war museums, Auckland has something for everyone. And while the city has a reputation for being welcoming and multicultural (did you know that there are more than 80 languages spoken in Auckland, according to the 2013 census?), English remains the primary and most-spoken language with 1.23 million speakers in the city. Sign up for an English course with us at Language Trainers today and discover everything Auckland has to offer in terms of its professional, social and cultural opportunities. You will not regret it!
For Work: Auckland is New Zealand's economic powerhouse, contributing 38% of the nation's GDP, which makes it the largest regional economy in the country. The city is home to big companies that can take your career to the next level. If you are working in the healthcare field, you can apply for a job at Abano Healthcare Group, one of the leading medical services providers in the region. Those working in the aircraft and automotive fields, instead, can apply at Air New Zealand, the biggest international and domestic airline group in the country, which provides air passenger and cargo transport services throughout New Zealand, as well as to and from Australia, the South West Pacific, Asia, North America and the United Kingdom. All these companies ask their future employees to have an advanced level of English, so start learning with us soon as possible and become proficient in time to apply for your dream job.
For Culture & Tourism: Auckland is a city full of cultural activities to do all year long. Tourists or new residents interested in knowing more about the history of Auckland can visit an array of museums housing world-class galleries and interactive displays, as well as the world’s largest collection of Māori treasures. Also, you can discover Auckland’s rich culture and history by participating in one of the free walking tours through the city, where you can observe early colonial architecture and visit historical Māori sites. Another very interesting spot to visit is the New Zealand Maritime Museum on Hobson Street to know more about how sea shaped Auckland’s cultural identity. And if you have an artistic side, you can take a photography walk to see Auckland through a different lens and discover some of the city’s most photogenic spots, from skylines to spectacular landscapes. These activities are delivered in English, so make sure you sign up for a course with us at Language Trainers!
